Fulbridge School is a large primary school in New England, Peterborough. It hosts just over 120 members of staff and approximately 670 pupils from over 30 different countries, every one of whom matters. The school provides an exciting and varied curriculum with themed corridors and inspiring classrooms. Our school is changing constantly, and with work on the Children's Centre extension to the front of school now finished, exciting new prospects are on the horizon. Enjoy this website to view what is going on at Fulbridge at the moment. Please remember to give our site a star rating. If you have anything to contribute to the site such as names of past members of staff or stories to add to the history of the school section, please let us know.
This is how some Year 3 children describe our school:
Our school is very colourful with themed corridors for the different topics the children are doing throughout the year. In the Reception corridors the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car is flying through the corridors. The corridors are like a jungle with lots of crazy animals and people walking around.
There is a dungeon with lots of eerie monsters. At our school the scary dungeon is where our headteacher (Mr Erskine) works in his office. In the dungeon there are scary skeletons with no eyes and there are hairy spiders with scary eyes. There is a gravestone with blood on it. It is terrifying because the bats have black eyes. They are dirty and ugly. There are grey walls with grey misty webs on them. There is a boneless skeleton hanging from the dirty wall.
The jade green carpet, of the corridor is like wet grass waving from side to side. Out in this corridor there is a brave knight wearing shining strong armour, charging through the corridor. He has a fabulous sword that is waiting to be taken. He also has a pink feather in his helmet. There are whimsical Egyptians pictures on the yellow wall. In this Egyptian corridor there are camels eating from the trees, whilst two statues are guarding a pyramid. Chocolate comes alive in the Year 6 corridor. All these corridors are here because they describe what we are learning about. We can eat in a continental café or go back in time to a Victorian parlour, kitchen and class room. Just around the corner from the village Post Office Shrek waits for you on the way to the staff room and a Greek Agora.
The activity hall is where we all have our assemblies. Little Gems Nursery is at the back of the activity hall, the Little Gems Nursery is for children from the age of 0-3 years. There are loads of things for the nursery children to do, e.g. sleeping.
In the ICT Suite there are paintings of the planets and also there are passwords to get on the computers which are the same as the planets. There are paintings of made up planets that children from our school have done.
In the playground there are many murals, one is an ocean full of colourful strange, fishes. The fish’s skin is like a colourful peacock. When you look up you will see cute calm birds flying everywhere in the freezing sky.
On our field we have a play area that is called Excalibur. Here there is a beautiful princess waiting for her prince. Excalibur is fun and exciting. There are huge spiders crawling all over the walls. Also there are colourful emerald, red and golden gates all around Excalibur. Walls are broken so knights can attack. There are golden ropes that you can climb up.
On the field there is emerald green grass waving from side to side. There is a huge hill on the field that you can have fun on. The hill is like an enormous sleeping giant. There are tall trees where you can sit and cool yourself. The quiet area has wooden brown benches you can sit on. It is very calm there so you can relax like you are on a beach. There are concrete animals that keep on staring at you when you go near, it is kind of weird.
You will love being at Fulbridge School.

We have always believed that all children and adults who work or visit our school deserve to be treated with respect, feel safe and should have the opportunity to grow and learn.
In all the years I have been at Fulbridge School (I cannot believe it is 14 years!) I do not remember a time when Fulbridge children have behaved so well and when as I walk round school each day I have seen so much 'learning' going on. We have a large number a lovely hard working children and a strong and committed staff. This does not happen by chance, it comes from staff, children, parents and governors all working well together. We have a curriculum approach and a system of daily rituals and routines that make the school an enjoyable place to be for both children and adults.
We are working hard to improve the school environment, it is an old school (built 1935), and we have now installed a new door in a Reception class as well as replacing seven old doors with new aluminium doors. We are hoping to replace more of the old windows this summer holiday. The new children's cooking area is wonderful and the children enjoy dressing up in chefs outfits and cooking in this area. We have also spent a great deal of money on new computers and our ICT systems. All computers in school are networked and a new broadband system has been connected to the school to improve connectivity, efficiency and speed. We have installed a new system called Securus to improve internet security and our monitoring capability. In addition to this we have launched our Learning Platform for use by children and parents. This will improve communication and systems for reporting to parents.
The children always look so smart in their school uniform and school shoes and this is one of the reasons why we rarely experience poor behaviour around our school. Children need to look as if they are here to learn and that is why we insist that hair must be a natural colour, no shorter than a number two with no designs in the hair. The wonderful displays in the corridors and classrooms are always treated with respect by everyone in school and they make our school very different from other schools - we are, I believe, a school that makes you long for childhood!
The front door of school is for the Children's Centre not for parents of children, unless you are visiting school between the hours of 9.15am and 2.45pm when you must for security use this entrance.
IN THE INTERESTS OF SAFETY AND SECURITY:
1. Pushchairs are not allowed in school corridors—there is not enough space!!!!
2. Do not use the main school entrance on Keeton Road as an entrance or exit. It is for the Children’s Centre. Only use this entrance when visiting school during school hours (9.15 to 2.45pm)
3. Please read all the school rules on the back page of your Year Outline pamphlet.
4. For security and safety of your children, please do not enter the school at the end of the day, children will be brought out to you. Too many adults in school makes it difficult to monitor who should and should not be in school.

Work started last summer term (2007) to extend Fulbridge School and begin the process of becoming a Children's Centre. The extensions include a new entrance to the school on Keeton Road and two new classrooms on the school site. This is now completed and in use so the pupils can now enjoy these new aspects to the school. Look at the Children's Centre tab to see pictures of the new Childrens Centre. The whole of Fulbridge Square has been developed by the Home Zone initiative so not only has our building been improved but Keeton Road and all the roads around the school have be greatly improved.
